why this church rocks
-
If you have ever wanted to MAX- OUT your Christian life, have a great church experience, and achieve your ministry purposes in Christ... then you have found the right church.
How TCC is similar to most churches?
Today’s Christian church is just like most churches, in that we offer the usual things; Sunday and Wednesday worship services, children’s church for all ages, home group fellowships, evangelism and outreaches, teaching classes, and lots of fun social church activities for members. -
How TCC is different from traditional churches?
While many churches choose to limit the ministry activity of the church, to strictly that of the senior pastor’s pulpit ministry to the congregation, at Today’s Christian Church, we actually expanded the base of ministry to involve all congregational members themselves who desire to be used by God in the ministry. At TCC, we offer a ton of ministry opportunity for “everyone” to get involved in, both inside the church, and outside of the 4-walls of the church. In actuality, the bulk of the real hands on ministry that occurs at TCC, is performed by “you”, the congregational minister, and not exclusively the senior pastor or staff.
-
The Sunday morning service of course, is a time for corporate celebration, “experiencing” the presence of God together, teaching and critical impartation from the senior pastor to the church.
Keep in mind however, that the overall work of the ministry, performed by the church as a whole, is in no way needlessly contained or limited to a mere 2 hour church service, two times a week. Instead, church ministry, both to its congregation and to the city in which it has been called, can go forth and operate a full seven days a week. The real hands on work of the ministry, as performed by church members, “daily” occurs in home groups, weekly evangelism out reaches, classes, ministry teams and yes during the service times as well.
-
Is releasing everyone into the ministry biblical?
Absolutely Yes. In fact it is the exact, correct ministry practice that Jesus, Paul and Peter taught the New Testament church to operate by.
-
"And he himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, “For” the equipping of the saints
” For” the work of the ministry…. Ephesians 4:11-12
Question? Who is doing the equipping here, and who gets to enjoy, participate in, and do the actual work of the ministry? The congregation does, and is lead, equipped, encouraged, supported and sustained by the pastor himself.
Here Paul is saying that the primary job of the pastor, and the very reason that the pastoral office exists, is to teach, train, and equip the congregation themselves to perform the real work of the church ministry. -
A football analogy
Paul is specifically telling us, that the senior pastor and leaders are the coaches, and that the entire congregation, are the actual ministers on the football field playing the football game.
Would it make sense to you for God to have arranged the dots in such a way, that the coaches were on the field, playing the game themselves, while the actual football players stood on the side lines, and watched the game being played?
The plan of Gods to reach planet Earth has always been his army of “lay ministers” and not merely the pastor and evangelist.
This privilege of the body entering into the ministry works of Jesus, in no way competes or undermines the authority of the pastor. Instead, it actually creates a greater dependency on the pastor, to supply his or her needed expertise and leadership. The above mentioned pattern of ministry, is a consistent picture of the congregation’s ministry, and is found through out the entire New Testament.
-
At Today’s Christian church- We call every church member a “Member Minister”.
Why? Because that’s who you are. -
-
Jesus himself established, recognized and endorsed the ministry of “you”, the Congregational Minister in the gospels.
Mathew 28:18
Jesus was addressing the 12 disciples, but the ministry instruction was given to “all believers”, as verified in Mark 16.
Mark 16:16-18
Here Jesus simply uses the terms “he who believes” and “they” to describe the normal ministry functions performed by all congregational ministers.
Juke 24:47
Here Jesus is again addressing the 12 disciples, but the ministry instruction that he gave is clearly intended for every believer, or all congregational ministers. This significant ministry that is to be performed by all congregational ministers, Jesus himself terms, the ministry of the “Witness”.
Acts
In Acts 1:8, Jesus once again substantiates the simple, yet vitally effective ministry role of every “congregational minister”.
The apostle Paul recognizes and endorses the valid ministries of the individual congregational ministers, and refers to them continually... throughout his epistles.
Paul uses the term “each one” to describe “you” and your place of ministry within your own church.
1 Cor 12:7, 11, “the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the prophet of all”.
Rom 12:4-8 He uses the word “us” 3 times, positively identifying and referencing “you” the congregational ministers in direct ministry function.
i.e., vs 7…. Let us use it in our ministering
Eph 4:15-16, Paul speaking by revelation declares, “how God designed his church to function, and that the very process of growth and life of the church, is dependant upon “you”, ...“what every joint supplies”, i.e., the congregational ministers performing their vital ministry functions within the church”. Notice god’s balanced emphasis on both the laity’s ministry and the pastors’ for the total health of his church.
Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another...
Question? Who is doing the teaching, and who is the “one another”?
The pastor or the congregation? Answer, here Paul is directly addressing “us”, as Congregational ministers and instructing us to both teach and admonish.
-
Rom 15:14 Now I am confident concerning you ….. able to admonish one another.
Here Paul declares that he is perfectly confident in “you”, and the other congregational ministers ability to function in the ministry within the church.
(*Note: do a study on the word admonish, it is no slouch ministry)
The apostle Peter also acknowledges the dynamic ministry of the congregational ministers.Like Paul, he also uses the term “each one” to inclusively, describe the valid ministry practice of every believer.
As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 1Pet 4:10
Who is doing the actual ministry, and to whom are they ministering to? It’s the “congregational ministers” once again ministering to each other, and functioning according to Peter’s instruction, in the normal course of daily church life.
Peter additionally adds the dimension of responsible stewardship, reminding every church minister that “their ministry” is both a privilege and responsibility within the church.
-
Summary
If Peter, Paul and Jesus recognize the existence and legitimate ministry role of every individual minister within the church, then we want to do the same. How about you?
God’s is preoccupied with the investment, equipping, use, and release of “every” individual person into real church ministry. He would not have distributed gifts to each one, then made it an issue of stewardship, if that were not his clear intent.
The primary job of a pastor within the local church is to teach, “equip”, then guide each member, into their respective place of ministry service. (Eph 4:12)
The teaching ministry, as important as it is, is still only one out of three equally important instructions from Jesus. The other two-thirds are “disciple making”, and city wide communication of the gospel. (Math 28:19-20)
Therefore, a correct New Testament church is not one that teaches endlessly on Sunday mornings, but rather one that is perfectly balanced in its assigned pursuits. One that is capable of “facilitating” God’s own special emphasis, on releasing his people into the ministry, for the health and growth of the church itself, and for the evangelization of the city, to which it has been called.(Eph 2:10, 4:16)

The Great Commission – A Direct Fulfillment
We make evangelism fun
Evangelism done properly is genuinely fun, “its a rush”, and can honestly be done “stress free”. Learn to win souls in a casual, non religious way. At TCC, we don’t talk about evangelism, or hold nine week classes about it. We just do it!
The Great Commission is the sacred instruction from our lord and savior Jesus to his church, and the very reason why the church exists and functions. The reason why your still here, and not “Fed Exed” to heaven after you were saved, is to introduce your new friends to Jesus. (Math 28:18, Mark 16:15-18)
While many churches have lapsed into a passive or indirect pursuit of the GC, and some have deleted it all together, we advocate a direct fulfillment of the GC with extreme passion.
Interesting fact: The church world has never seen any church that has in its works, a “direct fulfillment system” of the Great Commission. One that can be enjoyed and comfortably fulfilled by all church members alike; young, elderly, teens and kids. When was the last time you may have visited a church that had more than a handful of people doing any type of regular evangelism?
At Today’s Christian Church, we have innovated the first direct fulfillment plan, and it is called, "Power Teams". Now every member in the church can make their life count and joyfully participate in the end time harvest of souls while having fun doing “the stuff” that Jesus said that we get to do.
We look forward to sharing this wonderful breakthrough with all churches, and showing them how to harvest with us.

A balanced church social structure
Many churches choose to contain all their church activities within the single church building. At TCC, we “intentionally balance” and integrate the use of the church building for public worship services, with a highly organized network of citywide home group fellowships. Small group fellowships are simply a better venue over the static church building, for people to live out and experience the full benefits of the Christian life. Small group life and activities, in conjunction with public worship services, are how we create “whole body life” and a rich Christian experience for the entire family.

Why we don’t want to be your home church
If church membership means sitting in a pew for the next ten years, listening to sermon after sermon, and never really getting to do anything for Christ, then were probably not interested in being anyone’s home church. Instead, we want to partner up with you, and help you fulfill your ministry purpose. (John 4:34)
What is your passion? Have you found your “that” yet? (Phil 3:12) What ministry blueprints has god placed in your heart to do for him? Then that is what we want to facilitate. What would you accomplish if you had unlimited support, and encouragement in your life and ministry?
Come be apart of the “off the pews revolution”, and experience a brand new church. There is exciting “Next level” stuff going on around here, be contagious with us today!
Today’s Christian Church, more than a church - it’s a movement
Our home group fellowships, (Life Groups), are never
a simple bible study group. Life Groups are where we develop real and genuine
relationships, “to know and to be known” by other church friends on a weekly
basis.
Additionally,
your Life Group church family is where you get to do “the stuff”. Develop
and exercise your spiritual gifts and talents as you practice your personal
ministry along with your other home group friends. Our Life Groups are awesome,
experience one today.
Progress and mobility are normal, and a sign of health
in all life relationships. To not progress in business, family and even church,
is not natural or desirable. Does anyone plan to be at the same job position,
the same place in life or at the same income level ten years from now? Didn’t
think so, and neither does God. Our spiritual progress, adulthood, and progression
into leadership, is not wrong, it’s normal.
God himself has a personal promotion plan for you and every believer!
Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, and he will lift you up (promotion),
James 4:10
A mans gift makes room for him, and brings him (promotion), before
great men Prov 18:16
For exaltation comes
neither from the east nor west…… but God Ps 75:6
You shall increase
my greatness….. Ps 71:21
May the Lord give you increase more and more Ps
115:14
By this time you ought to be teachers…. Heb 5:12
Describing the natural coarse and progression of every believer.
Even Jesus
himself had to matured into the leadership role of his ministry Luke 2:40,
46-47
A normal part of any, healthy church, is to have a clearly
paved road for all into the ministry, and a “clearly” defined path, (promotion),
into church leadership for those who have the desire to serve Christ further.
A person should never have to fight to enter into greater levels of ministry
service, or have to contend with “no open doors” provided by the church.
You are invited
At TCC, everyone has a leadership opportunity to start
serving in the ministry right now. Really! We have many
rapidly expanding ministries, and are looking for genuine servant leaders
that are on fire for God, and desiring to serve Christ by serving other
people.
We need your ministry experience and leadership skills, and have available
leadership opportunities right now.

- More
At TCC, we don’t like to do occasional church activities.
We like to do fun stuff all the time, multiple times a week. Whoever said
that the pastors have to do everything?
Why all churches, for example, don’t do tons of: fun
nights, bike rides, sporting events, etc., every single weak, is honestly
a head scratcher. Activities build friendships, and create a quality sense
of community among church family members. Besides, it beats staring at
the back of each others heads every week.
So what do you like to do? Basketball, rock climb, shop, scrap book, jog,
watch football? Then why not be a blessing to other people who probably share
your interests and start up a fun group today. Make it one of your ministries
to your church, organize and run it, and we will support you.
Think Tank
What you think can change your church!
All God ever asked us to do as a church, was to “get
good”, and develop expertise at doing basically one thing, “the Great Commission”
, and being a church family.
Therefore, as a church, we are committed to continually finding, refining,
tweak and spinning, new and better ways of: reaching our city for Christ,
discipleship, fellowship, impacting lives and having fun.
We want to be a constantly creating and innovating church, a “think tank”
that attracts passionate and out of the box Christians like yourself. We
thrive on your creative ideas and juices, and are not threatened by them.
We are incurably teachable, and love to borrow great ideas from other church
families and freely share ours as well.
You are a valued member of this church, and what you think can change your
church. One “God idea” from you can impact and change thousands of lives.
So please share yours today.
